LiveSimply Annual Parish Walk - Sept 2026
The rain showers held off and 59 parishioners - ranging from babies to the more mature - joined our team of 15 marshals and first aiders to enjoy the LiveSimply team’s 3rd annual parish walk. During our leisurely stroll between St Dunstan’s and St Hugh’s churches, along the scenic Basingstoke Canal, acquaintances were renewed and new friendships were made.
Nature put on a lovely display, with berries, dragonflies, fish, and birds - including the bright flash of an elusive kingfisher.
All were greeted at St Hugh’s with drinks and a much anticipated array of fantastic cakes.
Thank you for the generous donations, which raised £86 for the sustainable farming project which we support in the drought and poverty stricken Ikutha region of Kenya. This is in keeping with one of the LiveSimply award aims of living in solidarity with the poor around the world, who are suffering the most from climate change.
Thank you also to all involved in organising this lovely community event and for making it run so smoothly.
We look forward to you joining us on next year’s parish walk.
