Award time!!

The Live Simply Award

Dear Parishioners

We are about to be assessed by Cafod to see if we are ready to receive the Live Simply Award for the Parish of St Dunstan’s and St Hugh’s. 

It has been almost 3 years since the St Dunstan’s and St Hugh’s Cafod groups first began to respond to The Cafod Live Simply campaign and work towards becoming a Live Simply Parish. Since then we have aimed to encourage everyone to make more sustainable choices and act on Pope Francis’s call to ‘care for our creation’.

We have, amongst many things,  held informative talks, shown films, organised parish walks and built links with The Poor Servants of the Mother of God in order to support women in the drought ridden area of  Ikutha, Kenya to learn to farm in sustainable and productive ways. This project is helped by our fundraising Jackpot and through other events such as the Easter raffles. We have created the Live Simply website to relay information through factoids and blogs and have a regular presence in the newsletter to keep parishioners updated. Hopefully, you are aware of our efforts and have been able to join in with some of our activities. 

We would welcome any feedback from you regarding our Parish journey so far, whether on a specific event or in general. We also welcome any thoughts on how we continue this journey in the future.
